A Canberra classic. Choose your own adventure out to the Hut. Leave from your front door, drive to Tharwa and pedal from there or however else you want to do it. We’ll have a small crew leaving from Haig Park in the early arvs.
Might even share some snax and a whisky around the fire.

50km/800vm loop to Old Canberra Inn for Lunch
A cruisey-ish ride for those who have done this kinda thing before. Conducted in the spirit of bikepacking. Be self sufficient, fit, familiar with riding singletrack and prepared for a good time.


Thirstypacker Threehundo
2-3 November 2024. Starts 0600hrs Saturday 2 Nov at Lindy Lee’s Ouroboros at the National Gallery of Australia.
The Thirstypacker Threehundo is a weekend epic traversing the undulations between Canberra and Tumut in the name of a good time well earnt.
To consider themselves a finisher, riders must complete the route in the GPX files provided and post selfies with #thirstypacker at the following checkpoints:
CP1: The Oriental Hotel, Tumut
CP2: Wee Jasper Distillery (opens 10am)
CP3: Dickson Taphouse, Dickson
This is an untimed, unsanctioned and self supported event. This is not a race. There are no prizes.
With 150km and 2700vm of climbing each day you’ll know you’ve been for a ride.

Consider leaving Tumut VERY early on Sunday to get some kays in before it’s an oven out there. You’ll miss the Disterllery’s opening at 10am but you’ll keep cool-ish. There’ll be some gusty NW winds coming in around lunchtime, could be a tailwind into CBR if you time it right.
